Monsters

My name is ________________and I can´t remember how I ended up living under your bed. All I remember is that I got lost during a school trip to observe humans. My teacher always tells me to stay with the whole group because”humans “ she says” can be really dangerous”. But, as usual, I didn´t pay any attention. Suddenly everything became bright and clear , the sun was shining high and I was on my own and terrified! I just wanted to find a dark place to hide from humans and I saw........

When _________dumped me my heart broke into a million pieces. I could not breathe. I could not bear to see him/her again. I decided to leave the forest. I walked and cried for hours, then I saw your house. It looked like a safe place to lick my wounds and I got under your bed. When I heard what he/she had done to you , I knew I was in the right place. We are too much alike in our grief.

I don´t like you. Or this house, or your small and tidy bedroom. I hate this hideous place under your bed where the floor is spotlessly clean. But I have to stay. There is no bloody chance to leave . I am an outcast. I was expelled from my monster community. I did nothing to deserve it. It was not my fault. It was the other guy´s fault. I didn´t want to do it, but he made me do it. That is why I had to leave and find myself a new place to stay. They were following me when I saw your little house near the forest and I thought......

Jack' s story - My best holiday

Jack' s story - My best holiday

Last summer I went to a holiday park in the south of Taiwan with some of my best friends. The park was beautiful, green and calm. There was a lot of grassland, a large forest, a vast clear lake and some holiday houses. We stayed there for many days and just enjoyed the nature and the magnificent scenery.

grassland: pradera
On the third day of our holiday, we went on a boating trip on a long and winding river. The river was deep and the current was strong. We were very excited and also nervous because we had never had any experience of this, and we couldn’t control the boat. We just floated along, and the boat circled around on the water. Suddenly we ran into a current, and the boat was quickly dashed against a rock.

to dash: estrellarse
At the time, I didn’t grip the rope well and fell into the water before anyone could reach me. I was terrified and frightened; I couldn’t catch up with the boat and was quickly swept away. Unfortunately I went into a whirlpool, and even though I was making a good effort to escape, I couldn’t swim out. I was tired and I thought I couldn’t survive much longer in the water, but luckily I got hold of a rock and clung desperately to it.
to grip: agarrar   rope : cuerda  sweep: arrastrar, barrer, whirlpool:remolino
About twenty minutes later, the guide with an assistant rowed in a boat close to the rock. They threw a rope and shouted to me, “Hang on. We’ll get you out!” I tried to catch the rope many times, but it was still too far from me. Finally the guide dove into the water and brought it to me. Then I was soon taken to the riverbank.

I believe that it was the most exciting holiday of my life.
